popcorn massacre.
11.14.04 (6:42 pm)   [edit]

so i decided that i wanted to make some popcorn tonight, and it turned into a major fiasco involving the entire family.  i put the first (notice first) bag into the microwave... set it to 4.5min and then went into the other room.  it came out burned and unpoped by the time it was done.  so i put the second one in, and by this time my dad came into the room to find out what the smell was.  so i tried another bag, etc, etc, etc... finally at the end of the entire thing, and five bags later... we still didn't have any consumable popcorn.  my dad tried to do a bag, my mom tried to make one, i tried again, and then we were all fighting with eachother on how to set up the last bag that we had.  interesting. i think the bags were just too old.  so, no popcorn tonight.

this week is going to go by very fast i think! i am excited :)

what is up with florida?  a first grader brought 1k of crack to school, and then a police officer shocks a six year old with a taser gun.

eureka!
11.12.04 (7:38 pm)   [edit]

my legs are killing me.  here is a description of my day.

woke up in the middle of the morning (around 4.30am), from a bad dream.  oh, and it was a !really! bad dream.  too bad i can't remember it?  i know it was about someone/a situation that had been bothering me lately.  that is all.  the specifics?  they're lost forever.

my alarm went of at 7.05am as i had set it, and i hit the snooze.  fifteen minutes later i got up and took a shower, got dressed, ate breakfast, blah blah blah... then i was off to work at 8.30am.

i arrived at work, did most of the night drop, then prepared for the influx of people.  okay, let me tell you one thing about the crowds today.  THERE WAS A LINE TO THE DOOR THE ENTIRE FUCKING DAY!  that is all.

once i got off work 30min later than i was supposed to, i went to the tower theatre and did the catering thing... which was actually a lot of fun.  more fun than i thought it would be.  i would love to do it again.  the polenta taponade, smoked salmon mousse on crospini, and other things were actually quite good.

now i am just home, sipping water, typing this and am probably going to be in bed shortly.

and i still have to work tomorrow, and do all my homework.

the endless circle of stress continues.

somebody told me.
11.10.04 (8:39 pm)   [edit]

YES! a four day weekend... (again).  what am i going to be doing?

thursday- marching in the veterans day parade, cascade winds
friday- at work, then at the tower theatre for the catering thing
saturday- at work then probably homework
sunday- relaxing

somewhere in there i am doing my reading homework and science... oh joy!

has anyone heard the song "somebody told me"?  i first heard it a few weeks ago, and now it's like my favorite song on 94.1...  who's it by?

one flew over the cuckoos nest is even more fucked up after reading a few more pages in school.  when did the last book you read in school talk about someone who was a ball cutter?

i had a dream.
11.09.04 (7:26 pm)   [edit]

i had a dream.  it reminded me of this picture.

it's a weird one.  okay, time to go and have some more...

tata.

scary?
11.08.04 (5:56 pm)   [edit]

one flew over the cuckoos nest

electroshock therapy.  lets tie you to a gurney, and chain your arms at your sides.  don't forget to have your legs tied with ropes and then chained to the floor.  okay, now you have to keep still so we can rub jelly onto your temples.  open your mouth.  we put in a block of wood so you don't bite your tongue.  you squirm as we put an iv full of anesthetic into your arm. drip drip drip.  it's going to take a while. we put a mask on your mouth so that you continue to breath during your "procedure".  close your eyes.  last step, put the electrodes on.  you're doing a good job.  i push the big red button and electric current shoots through your brain.  twenty seconds later i push the button again and you are unconcious.  finally, i tap you and you wake up.  it's dark.  where am i?

beef up the band.
11.05.04 (8:14 pm)   [edit]
okay, so i got to cascade winds the other night, and some flute player is frantically scribbling on the dry erase board... BEEF UP THE BAND, IF YOU BUY SOME GROUND BEEF FROM ME I WILL GIVE SOME TO THE BAND. well, she wrote it better, but that was the main idea. i guess the band is doing a fundraiser from her black angus ground beef sales. she typed up some beef letters and she passed them around, it described the process in which the beef is created, from breeding to the slaughter house. interesting... she is kind of a redneck farmer person, so it's really funny. that night she had a 1lb sample for everyone in the entire band so i got to take some home, and i just stuck it in the fridge without telling anyone. lol, my mom the next day is like "where in the hell did this come from?". i waited to tell her about it until she thought she was going crazy. i'm so nice :).

speaking of my mom, she is going to be working at the bon-macy's part-time for the holiday season. she hasn't worked since i was in kindergarden, so it will be really interesting. she will finally NOT be home for a change... YES!

i was freezing at the football game tonight... thank god it was the last one. the countdown clock just went soooooo slow it was the worst thing ever. i sat next to cara, claire, and some other freshman girls and it was really quite interesting. they are way different than guys in what they talk about and how they talk. guys usually tend to stay on one subject for a while. those girls just kept changing topics every other sentence... and like a quarter of what they said was also an inside joke. whatever.

work tomorrow, no homework this weekend, and no plans. it will be relaxing.

esto es el fin del poste, adiós ahora.

my boring life.
11.02.04 (6:11 pm)   [edit]

how to begin, how to begin.

it's not like it's been uneventful... just not very interesting.  what can i say?

today was the college fair at the deschutes county fairgrounds, it was pretty much just a social event for most of the kids that went there, but whatever.  i don't get why half of the girls just went there to just sit against the wall, flirt with the "hot" guys from the other schools, see how many pens they could get from the booths, etc.  silliness.  it was really, really, really, crowded there too.  some army school came and they all had their uniforms, shaved heads, and green camo and it was really funny to see them walking around like that.  how embarrassing.  they also all had those really high boots and they tucked their pants into them so it looked really funny.  haha it just made me laugh.  schools from bend, (bend high, mountain view, summit), redmond, madras, prineville, lapine (eww), sisters, and those other tiny towns in the area were there.  just way too many people.  anyway, it was a good experience, i have a ton of reading material, and a couple things have been made clearer.

conferences were today too, though i didn't go, pamela did.  she got good reports back, (of course).

 that is all.

haha part two.
10.31.04 (2:28 pm)   [edit]

haha.
10.31.04 (2:19 pm)   [edit]

Tuesday is Election Day. Here are some pointers to keep in mind when heading to the polls:

Election Day Guide

  • If at all possible, vote before work. That way, you can make smug comments to non-voters all day long.
  • The new electronic voting machines are complicated. But don't worry: Octogenarians will be on hand to troubleshoot any technological problems that might arise.
  • If your election official hooks you up to a machine via a needle in your arm, you are actually donating blood.
  • Tip for those on the go: Voting a straight ticket can save you up to 15 seconds.
  • Remember that, as a member of a participatory democracy, you have a duty to make your voice heard on Election Day. If you find that idea hard to grasp, think of it like the lotto: You can't win if you don't play.
  • Don't wear dress shoes. They leave black scuff marks on gymnasium floors.
  • Voting is no longer considered uncool. Note that it is not cool, either.
  • Many newspapers offer sample ballots. Buy 10 copies and practice, practice, practice.
  • Remember to vote, or P. Diddy will kill you.
  • This is one of the most important elections in recent times, so it's best if you just leave it up to the pros.
  • When voting, you don't need to dress up in a scary costume or hand out candy. That happens two days earlier.
  • You might think it's funny, but it's disrespectful to submit write-in candidates like "Don Knotts," "Mickey Mouse," or "Michael Badnarik."
  • Remember to take the day off to vote. And the day before, to psyche up. And the morning after, to dry out.
  • If you are black and a resident of Florida, work out two or three alternate routes to your polling place to avoid police checkpoints.
  • The most important thing is to vote your conscience.
  • Okay, this is your conscience speaking: "Vote Nader. Vo-o-o-o-ote Nader."
  • If you are a Flintstone, make sure to put the granite slab arrows-first into the dinosaur's mouth.
  • If you live in Florida, for Christ's sake, look at the ballot very, very carefully this time.
  • Education is the issue Americans say is most important. Find someone with one of those to read the ballot to you.
  • Keep in mind that the name of every person who votes against George Bush is going to be read aloud on television the next time we're attacked by terrorists.
  • If you don't know where the polling place is in your district, just try to remember the ugliest, dingiest, most depressing building in a three-mile radius. That's probably it.

What To Bring
Remember to bring proper identification to the polls.
This can be:

  • Driver's license or your chauffeur
  • Passport and photos of your boyfriend in Paris
  • SuperVoter discount card
  • Note from president
  • Proof that your grandfather voted
  • Retinal scan or your alderman's retinas
  • Two Iraqi scalps
  • Receipt for your shoes
  • Videotape of your first steps
  • Halliburton employee ID
  • Birthday card from grandmother
  • Pint of sperm for DNA-identification purposes
  • Casserole dish to pass
  • A good friend who can totally vouch for you
  • Signed $20 bill
  • Autographed celebrity photo inscribed with your name

time flies.
10.29.04 (8:04 pm)   [edit]
it has been exactly six months since my last birthday (april 29)... holy shit, it went fast.

what is there to do?

guilt buster?
10.29.04 (5:37 pm)   [edit]

i have to go into work tomorrow, mon, tues, wed, fri this upcoming week. oh well, lots of hours.

also, revise an essay, do anatomy, finish huck finn and do the study guide.  oh joy, homework is so much fun.

oddly enough, i have a guilty feeling today, and i don't know why.

it's love.
10.24.04 (9:47 pm)   [edit]

i heart huckabees

wow, it's that good.

Le français est très très amusant.
10.21.04 (8:40 pm)   [edit]
Juste me laisser maintenant.

jas

maize is cool.
10.20.04 (10:31 pm)   [edit]

so you all knew that apes share about 99.9% of the same genes as humans, right?

well, scientists just discovered the TRUE amount of genes that we have... about 20,000.

and guess what?

a worm has 19,500.  rice has 45,000.  maize has 50,000.

kind of insulting.  kind of interesting.  i guess we aren't so special after all.

question to the masses.
10.19.04 (6:39 pm)   [edit]

i think i am going to see see TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE this weekend.

is it any good? (without spoiling it)

oops.
10.19.04 (6:34 pm)   [edit]
jasonforpres (8:40:45 PM): adios
jasonforpres (8:40:47 PM): i mean HOLA
XXXXXXX (8:40:53 PM): wtf?

oops... lol

ghostlike.
10.18.04 (11:32 pm)   [edit]

today was pj day at school... but its so fucking cold outside i changed my mind.  well, really, there was no chance in hell i would dress up for that day.....  cowboy day, snow day, nerd day, and then blue and gold day is the rest of the week.  i could see me doing snow and blue and gold day... but thats it.  people said i look hot in a cowboy hat and that i should wear one for tomorrow, but i dont want to have it stuck with me all day.  so no.

i went into work early today, had a surprise cash count (oh what surprise!), got two referrals, got a break and watched tv, then back out there, balanced early, and left at 6.15.  good day.

the college fair is coming up, not sure if i'm excited or not.  i like the idea of going to college, but it just seems really complicated, stressful, and time-consuming about picking one and getting accepted and everything.  blah.

random thoughts of the day:

  • peeps at school who still wear flip-flops are CRAZY, blubbering idiots, (no offense, lol)

  • people should really think about what they say

  • wanna pash?

  • super melon is awesome.

-jas

grin :)
10.16.04 (1:52 pm)   [edit]

took the psats today... i think i did a lot better than last year, and i got pretty decent scores, too.  i did the best on the math section, then probably writing then reading... which was tough.  the vocabulary was really hard this time, but whatever.

plans this weekend? none so far, and i'm fine with that.

mozilla :)
10.13.04 (12:13 am)   [edit]
i just downloaded mozilla firefox...

me like :)

power or powder?
10.12.04 (5:59 pm)   [edit]
so the tv is finally fixed, which means i get the super new one woo hoo! my dad is bringing it over right now, so i can't wait to finally set it up in there and see how it looks...

my math test went really well i think. hopefully i end up getting a high A... and i got the extra credit that was on it, so that was pretty good :)

in anatomy, tyler and i finished the alimentary canal AND the entire membranes/cavitites/oral/ alimentary trace... it feels so good to finally get it all done with.

just a happy moment.... oh and powder puff tomorrow :) go juniors!

thanks, columbus!
10.11.04 (9:37 pm)   [edit]
pre-calc test tomorrow. i am almost wishing i end up getting a B in that class, that way, i won't be so pressured the rest of my high school years to get a 4.0...

also, i'm started to get really fed up with some of the people at school for various reasons. i don't want to get into it now though.

today was a blah day, maybe tonight will be better.

oh and thanks columbus... no work today :)

BLUE nose.
10.10.04 (4:03 pm)   [edit]

i'm sitting in the library, typing away... how fun!  this keyboard is like... really springy so i am typing a lot faster then i usually do... pretty confidence boosting if i say so.  the mouse has a funny click to it also, so its kinda fun :)

i go into work today... my little stage of disliking work has gone away, due in part to them hiring some new people.  we have rebecca, a part time teller and then someone named janelle is working full time starting next tuesday... finally it will be a little bit less stressful.  i've been balancing pretty good, so thats been pretty awesome, and they have been sticking me in drive up for the past couple weeks which has some definate advantages, and a few disadvantages...  fridays are hell because you are stuck waiting on two lanes at once, and then on the slow days its kinda nice because you're in your own little niche and can do some web browsing and email writing... (shhhh don't tell, jk ;)

the dumb girl in my english class did another stupid thing today... well we were working in these groups on this poster thing... and we were coloring with a bunch of assorted markers.  one of them was this blue one and it smelled like blueberries.  so a non dumb girl said "ooooh this smells so good".  the dumb girl said "ooooh let me smell!"  so the non dumb girl moved the marker to her nose while the dumb girl leaned in, and the non dumb girl pushed it onto her nose and made a huge blue line on it.  it was so funny, because everyone knew the non dumb girl did it on purpose, but the dumb girl didn't realize because she is... well... dumb.

that is all for today.

and upon reading the "dumb" paragraph, dumb looks like the weirdest word in the world.

dumb girls.
10.07.04 (8:55 pm)   [edit]

martha stewart is "in transit" to her new home for the next five months: a women's prison.  i can't wait to see the SNL and MADTV skits coming up...

tonight is cascade winds... should be fun.  mike is going to be there this time so that will be good, and i will get to see kim... yaaaah!

the tv is still getting repaired, so hopefully within the next few days it will be done and i will finally get the new one!

there are some really, really, stupid girls in my english class....  i find myself laughing at them sometimes because their questions are so stupid or they do the dumbest things...  i'll try to get some quotes later.

that's all for now...
